Student Success: Luc Dubois

unnamed-1 Success can be like buses; sometimes it all comes at once. This is very much the case for Luc Dubois (Personal Assistant to our Artistic Director Carole Robb on the 2015 program) who has sent us this list of everything he has been up to over the past few months. In fact there has been so much going on we have had to split it into two posts!

In August Luc collaborated with fashion designer Pedram Karimi who creates genderless outfits. Luc created a number of wearable sculptures and masks for Karimi’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection which showcased at Toronto Mens Fashion Week. The pieces are made of aluminium and were laser cut and bent into shape and can be seen in this short film.

In October Luc held a solo Pop-up show in agarage in of Sainte-Francoise in Quebec, Canada. In a town of just 500 people, the invitation poster was put up at the local corner store just hours before the pop up happened.  Luc managed to get 15 people within 4hrs hours of advertizing the show, giving a ratio of  15:500, which equals to 3% of the population!  Try that in a big city – without social media!

The Exhibition was a cultural exchange between Canada and Brazil and was also held in Spring 2015 at the Caixa Cultural in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  The show was supported by The Jose and Paulina Nemirovsky Foundation and the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce.

The photograph at the top of the page has been taken from the how however further images can be found here  and a french language transcript of the show can be found here.

Keep your eyes open for further information on what Luc has been up to in coming weeks…
