DuyshartWe love sharing with you the successes of our students both past and present and are please to announce that 2011 alumna Sarah Duyshart, has been awarded  The Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship.

A graduate of the Victorian College of Arts, Melbourne, Sarah Duyshart creates site-responsive work which takes the form of large meditative sound and sculptural installations that harness the physical and psychological tension innate to a space.

The Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships were established in 1991 and are awarded by the University of South Australia.

The scholarships (of which there two are awarded) take their name from the late Gordon Samstag, and American artist who taught at the South Australian School of Art (now the School of Art, Architecture and Design, part of the University of South Australia) from 1961 to 1970.

Sarah’s Scholarship will take her to Europe, where she will undertake physical research of architectural and engineered structures in regions that are rich with antiquity.
