Death of Achilles; Carole Robb
The BBC is making a Future Learn course in conjunction with the University of Leeds and is featuring a film about the BBC Your Paintings website.
Your Paintings is a website dedicated to showing the entire of the UK national collection of oil paintings; exploring the stories behind the works and where you can see them. The paintings are held in thousands of museums and public institutions around the country.
The film is presented by Classicist Mary Beard; who discusses the depictions of heroism in art. One of the paintings being featured in the film is Death of Achilles by our own Artistic Director Carole Robb.
Death of Achilles is one of two works by Carole which are included on the BBC Your Paintings website and is held in permanent collection at the Imperial War Museum in London.
