Student Success: 2014 Student Show

The Summer 2014 program was barely over before the doors opened to the first Rome Art Program show of the year.

On September 12-14th 2014 American University in Dubai played host to Crossing The Line 2 a conference dedicated to drawing in the Middle East, which included several exhibitions.

Crossing The Line 2 comprised of 34 works by invited international artists and the conference speakers. Co-curated by our visiting critic Dr. Irene Barberis, eleven of our students from summer 2014 were chosen to have work included in the show, which was exhibited in the Department of Visual Communications at the University.

The show was linked into the other campus exhibition Geometric Aljamia: a cultural transliteration, exploring the connections between Europe, the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East by addressing the geometry embedded in two-dimensional art.

In addition to this, our Artistic Director Carole Robb showed a drawing in another of the exhibitions; held at the Jam Jar Gallery.

The show then travelled  to Australia where it is currently showing at the Langford 120 Gallery in Melbourne.

A full review of the show (and a mention of RAP) can be found on the Studio International Website
